Un total de 75 canciones de otras tantas películas han sido preseleccionadas para los Premios Oscar de 2014. La lista de finalistas en la categoría de Mejor Canción Original se conocerá el 16 de enero.
Como no podría ser de otra manera con un grupo tan amplio de nombres, la diversidad campa a sus anchas por este listado, en el que hay artistas tan dispares como U2 ('Long Walk to Freedom'), Lana del Rey ('El Gran Gastby'), Taylor Swift ('One Chance'), Coldplay ('Los Juegos del Hambre: En Llamas'), M83 ('Oblivion') o Ryan Adams ('The Secret Life of Walter Mitty').
También aparece entre estas composiciones 'Cut Me Some Slack', el tema parteneciente al documental sobre 'Sound City' que puso a Paul McCartney al frente de Nirvana al reunirse con los miembros vivos de la legendaria banda de Seattle.
